Working on a new audio performance to be premiered at the opening week of Pia Myrvolds FLOW project at the Venezia Biennale 2011. More info to come..

HeadCleaner is an audio performance using custom built instruments made from obsolete computer parts.

Headcleaner explores the electromechanical soundscapes of the early days of computing. The buzzes and whizzes of spinning drives and clicks of loading media forms the basis of an improvised performance building multiple layers of sound resulting from pushing the hardware beyond the boundaries of it’s original purpose.

Piksel08 examines the other side of code, an alternative side to a hard-coded reality of work and play. Open hardware and free software project a utopic vision, yet exist within economies of capital, the dream factory of mainstream technology. Within the chance meeting of sewing machine and
umbrella on the dissecting table, hardware and software are flattened.

Piksel08: code dreams explores the dreams of this soft machine; bachelors coding for pleasure, reverse engineering paranoiac constructs of the real, automatic coding practice, soft hardware, and everyday magic.

FrankenFurby at Tou Scene

From the archives: a video of the FrankenFurby installation done in collaboration with Motherboard. Originally a commission for the International Festival of Puppetry for Adults in Vienna 1999. Here on display at Tou Scene in 2003.

A number of hacked Furbys are connected via relais and controlled with a simple basic program to do random movements.
